Homemade Menu

It was parent-teacher day at our daughter’s school. While Robin was talking with the teacher, Grammy watched the kids. Happily, we were able to convince her to stay for dinner. We’re pretty sure that it was the fancy menus hand-crafted by our daughter that did the trick.
Since both kids were off for the day (our son only goes two days a week) everyone went to visit Chris at work. That marked the first time that we made it back to one of our favorite haunts—Brick Oven Pizza (“the BOP”) in Fells Point. Between a familiar lunch and dinner with Grammy, we had ourselves two very pleasant meals.

With a newborn, not all meals are so nice. The baby was not on her best behavior at last night’s dinner at the Macaroni Grill. Even with the baby crying, the older kids thoroughly enjoyed the meal. As much as they enjoyed their dinners, they were even more enthralled with the children’s menus—so much so that our daughter made menus for tonight’s dinner. There were plain menus for the adults, kids menus (complete with puzzles!), and even dessert menus. The official dinner menu (including desserts and a game!):
