Francese Grammy

With a little help from the kids, we convinced Grammy to join us for dinner. For the past two days, Grammy has been picking our daughter up from school. By way of saying thanks, we served one of her favorite salads for dinner. The main course was not too bad either.
Chicken francese is one of the many dishes that we have wanted to make for some time. Robin has fond memories of it from childhood and we hope that our kids will have some of their own—which seems likely given how much they both like chicken nuggets.

Along with the chicken and the salad, we served pasta with a simple sauce and italian bread from Trader Joe’s. But the highlight of the meal was the herbed oil dip that our daughter prepared. It was a little on the spicy side, but that is the way that our daughter likes it.

Last night, Grammy whispered in our daughter’s ear that we might go to Cold Stone tonight. So tonight, we do. Both kids got the candy cane ice cream. ’Tis the season, after all.
