Sesame Chicken
This is a quick but unusual recipe for chicken. Sesame seeds really dress up the chicken and add both taste and texture. The chicken is served in juicy strips. Originally served as part of Sesame Chicken over Stir Fry Soba Noodles.
Ingredients
- 2 halves boneless, skinless breast chicken (rinse and pound to an even thickness)
- 1/2 bottle sesame seeds
- to taste salt & pepper
- canola oil
Instructions
We heat the oil in a large frying pan. On a piece of wax paper, we dump the sesame seeds and mix in some salt and pepper. Using tongs, we coat both sides of each piece of chicken and reserve on a plate. When the oil is hot, we gently place the chicken into the frying pan with the tongs. We wash the tongs and disinfect the raw chicken prep area.
The chicken splatters a lot, so be careful! We fry for about 5 minutes on the first side, turn over, and continue to fry for another 5 minutes or so (depending on size of chicken). We want the chicken to be cooked through, yet juicy, and the sesame seeds browned.
We let the chicken rest for a few minutes on a clean paper towel-lined plate and then slice into thin strips.
