The kids wore their aprons tonight. They mostly cleaned herbs which, as anyone with any sense knows, is rather messy work requiring aprons. Even helping with the meal only evoked a mixed reaction from the kids when it came time to eat. We continue to hope that someday they will appreciate this stuff.

Our daughter did eat the herb sauce from the ratatouille, so there may be hope for her. She refused the veggies that were also part of the pasta dish. We were a little surprised that she liked the herb sauce, but she does like to dunk bread in olive oil sprinkled with various herbs.

Our son refused to try either the ratatouille or the herb sauce that he helped prepare, remaining loyal to his plain pasta. That boy loves his pasta. The baby ate barley cereal.
