Bananas after Panera

We went to Panera tonight. It was nice enough, but it was dessert that really excited. It was only some frozen bananas, but they were meaningful.
We spent the afternoon at Grammy’s installing kids computer games. When that took a little longer than expected, we found ourselves with no time to prepare a home-cooked meal. Hence, the trip to Panera.

Frozen bananas were a favorite dessert of ours from our days in graduate school. In fact, it was Robin’s undergraduate professor who spurred us to make them again. She found our little cookbook (isn’t the internet the greatest?) and recalled to us how fond she was of them. They are simple, tasty, and best of all, cheap. They bring back memories for the adults—perhaps someday, they will do the same for the kids.
