This interesting twist on traditional coleslaw is as easy to prepare as it is light—thanks to the shredded broccoli and carrot slaw mix from the market. We lightly dress the mix with mayonnaise and celery seeds for a wonderful side dish. Originally served as part of May Twoth.

  • Prep Time: 10 min

Tools & Appliances

  • Bowl

Ingredients

  • 3 cups pre-packaged, ready to eat broccoli slaw
  • 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • salt & pepper
  • celery seed

Instructions

We prepare the ingredients in the afternoon to allow the flavors to meld.

We begin by placing the broccoli slaw in a large bowl. We add the mayonnaise, rice vinegar, a pinch of salt (about ¼ teaspoon of coarse salt) and freshly ground black pepper. We toss with two forks to mix the dressing and sprinkle on some celery seeds. The bowl is covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated until it is time to eat.
